This car and install is the infamous design and build completed in 2006 for my Design And Technology Major Design Project.
Firstly, massive thanks to the owner Daniel for letting me use his car for my project. The theme for the whole project and install was to retain the factory and ‘stealth’ approach as much as possible. This included trying to colour match the source unit to the dash, and ensuring all aftermarket equipment was appropriately hidden behind factory trim panels (where possible) and/or out of sight.
First to be installed was the aftermarket Sony Source Unit. Daniel chose this unit thanks to its gun metal grey finish that matches nicely with the dash panels. It also features the required 3x 4v pre-outs, basic 7 band graphic equaliser, and large FL display for displaying lots of information.
The headunit was installed into the top DIN location, as per factory positioning.
